Cell biology

Cell biology is a branch of biology that studies cell structure and function, which is seen as the fundamental unit of life. Studying cells can offer a greater and detailed understanding of the organisms and tissues that cells compose. Some cells form complex structures, while other organisms consist of only one cell. There are functions that are shared by all cells, as well as unique functions particular to highly specialized cells.

Areas covered in cell biology are biochemical mechanisms, genetics and its relation to the formed proteins, cell component structures, cell communication, and cell cycle.
