Cloning is one of the most frequently used applications in molecular biology. Short DNA fragments or whole genomes are isolated and inserted into plasmids. After growing the plasmids, the DNA is isolated and can be used for downstream applications such as sequencing to further characterize the DNA sequence. The process is supported by many products and reagents from Bioline, SMOD and Nippon Genetics.
The Competent cells from Bioline are widely accepted to be used within cloning experiments, while the Lifonics SMOD can be used for OD 600 measurements during the growth process. The Nippon Genetics Bambamker products are used as a universal freezing media. The Bambanker products have been the number one choice for freezing media for many researchers over a long period of time.
