With Xiril Robotic Workstations GC biotech offers a high tech and affordable liquid handler for the low and medium throughput market.
The Xiril Robotics Workstations offers good performance, high precision and maximum flexibility on a small footprint. The striking design reflects modular architecture for a very competitive price. The Xiril Robotic Workstations provide Operators with extra time to accomplish more rewarding tasks whether you are involved in Diagnostics, Genomics, Proteomics or other fields of the bioscience market.
Xiril Benefits
From small to medium throughput:
The Xiril Robotic Workstations offer cost-effective and reliable solutions for small to medium throughput requirements wherever liquids are routinely transferred.
From Electronic Hand-Pipettes to Xiril Robotic Workstations:
The Xiril Robotic Workstations successfully integrate the well-established and reliable technology of electronic hand-pipettes into an efficient instrumentation concept.
From Manual Pipetting to Automated Lab Enviroments:
The use of this widespread technology will greatly ease the transition from manual work to robotic processing for laboratories that recently entered the world of lab automation. The open architecture of pipetting deck offers full access to external plate handling devices and therefore facilitates the integration of the Xiril Robotic Workstations into sophisticated lab environments.
From Sample Preparation to Process solutions:
The standard instrument configuration is designed for Sample Preparation. The flexibility in software architecture allows quick modifications to prepare Process Solutions that meet application-specific requirements of OEM partners.
Xiril Innovation
Small but powerful:
The Xiril Robotic Workstations, housing the embedded computer, are available in three different footprints (75, 100, 150 cm in length). They provide appropriate solutions for varying throughput and capacity demands, while saving limited and costly lab space.
Multiple tasking arms:
The unique Xiril robotic arms provide enhanced efficacy due to their multi-tasking functionality. Using the same tip adapter types, these versatile arms are able
- To detect and pipette liquids with 1, 2 or 4 pipetting channels
- To handle plates with the gripper device “Plate-GripX”
- To move the barcode scanner “Tube-ScanX”
Pipetting technique and liquid level detection:
Each Xiril pipetting channel imitates an electronic hand-pipette equipped with an independent pressure-based sensor system. This monitoring system is able to register pressure changes in the tips and therefore allows for the detection of clogged tips, liquid levels or clots after liquid aspiration.
Xiril pipetting skills
Xiril Robotic Workstations are supplied with either 250 µL or 1000 µL pumps, equipped with tip adapters that fit to both washable steel tips and disposable tips, with or without filters. All tip types can be used within the same pipetting process, providing the necessary flexibility to balance contamination risk and cost control.
Xiril instruments are capable of processing assays in 96-well and 384-well micro plates as well as supporting most types of customized container formats. The use of high precision rack adapters for microplates results in a positioning accurancy of +/- 0.2 mm across all axes of the pipetting deck.
The Lirix software package provides a pre-defined variety of action steps that can be fine-tuned based on an extensive set of liquid handling parameters:
- Single- and multi-pipetting of samples and reagents
- Serial and parallel pipetting, sample aliquoting and archiving
- Serial dilutions, pre-dilutions and multiple common pre-dilutions
- Liquid mixing while aspirating and dispensing
